BIBAK Arizona Christmas Party 2025: A Grand Celebration of Culture, Community, and Binnadang

BIBAK Arizona Christmas Party 2025: A Grand Celebration of Culture, Community, and Binnadang

On December 13, 2025, the BIBAK Arizona community gathered for an unforgettable Christmas celebration that truly captured the spirit of unity, culture, and generosity. Set in a beautiful outdoor garden venue under the open sky, the evening unfolded as a vibrant reflection of our shared heritage and the enduring Igorot value of binnadang—the tradition of coming together in mutual support and service.

Nearly 300 attendees joined the celebration, with members and guests traveling from different parts of Arizona and neighboring states, and even some visiting from Canada. Their presence reflected the strong bonds within the Igorot community and the importance of gathering together, even across distances.

The festivities began with a dazzling red carpet cocktail reception set among softly lit garden pathways and outdoor spaces. Members and guests arrived dressed in a beautiful blend of styles that reflected both elegance and heritage. About half of the attendees proudly wore native attire or outfits with ethnic accents and traditional Cordilleran designs, while the other half arrived in stylish cocktail dresses and formal wear. The result was a striking visual celebration of culture and festivity, as guests greeted one another with warm smiles, took photos along the red carpet, and enjoyed the lively garden atmosphere.

As the evening progressed, the outdoor space filled with energy during a series of fun and engaging games that brought together participants of all ages. From children to elders, everyone joined in the laughter and friendly competition, reminding us that the strength of our community lies in the joy we share together.

The main program opened in truly spectacular fashion. The powerful and enchanting sound of gongs echoed across the garden, their rhythmic resonance carrying through the night air and symbolically “dancing” through the open space. The performance set the tone for the evening—rooted in Igorot tradition while celebrating the living culture that connects us across generations and across oceans.

One of the highlights of the evening was the cultural presentations, where members proudly showcased the rich diversity of the Cordillera region. Participants wore vibrant traditional ethnic attire and performed dances that honored the unique traditions of their provinces. The garden setting made the experience even more special, transforming the gathering into something that felt like a mini Grand Cañao—celebrating the living culture of the Igorot people and the pride we carry wherever we are in the world.

As the formal program concluded, the celebration continued with a lively night of music and dancing. An awesome live band kept the dance area full, with guests of all ages joining in the fun and celebrating together.

As a nonprofit organization, BIBAK Arizona always hopes to generate funds that allow us to continue supporting community programs, cultural preservation, and outreach efforts. However, beyond the festivities, what truly defined the celebration was something far more meaningful—the strengthening of relationships, the celebration of our culture, and the powerful sense of unity within our community.

In a season when schedules are often full with holiday commitments, nearly 300 people chose to come together, reconnect, and celebrate their shared heritage. That choice reflects the true essence of binnadang—the Igorot tradition of unity, cooperation, and shared responsibility within the community. It is through these connections, this shared pride in our heritage, and this willingness to support one another that our organization continues to grow and thrive.

The evening also drew heartfelt appreciation from visiting guests. Members from BIBAK San Diego shared their reflections on the celebration:

“We’re so delighted and thankful to be a part of your Christmas party. It was such a beautiful celebration. Everything was so meticulously organized—from the glamorous red carpet moment, to the systematic registration, to the charming venue, to the refreshing cocktail hour and wide charcuterie spread, not to forget the sushi bar, to the fun games that kept the audience engrossed, to the soulful prayer song, to the engaging and eloquent emcees, to the delectable dinner, to the cultural presentation from the group and the audience that looked like a mini Grand Cañao, to the captivating live band and the enjoyable dancing, to the charitable fundraiser and to the closing remarks expressed with humility and appreciation. The program was spotless. From the smallest detail of napkins and cutlery to the proper positioning of the heaters to make everyone comfortable, these thoughtful details created a larger and successful whole. Kudos to all your hard work. You truly showed ‘Binadang,’ resulting in a flawless program. It was a red-letter night—a magical and memorable event. We can’t wait to attend your Grand Cañao.”

The 2025 BIBAK Arizona Christmas Party was more than just a festive gathering. It was a powerful reminder that wherever Igorots may be in the world, the values of community, culture, and mutual support remain strong.

Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, and helped make the evening such a grand success. Your presence, participation, and spirit of binnadang made the celebration truly special—and it is this collective spirit that will continue to sustain and strengthen our community in the years to come.
